Western Union
|
ISCU is pleased to partner Western Union which has been a world leader in money transfers for more than 135 years. |
|
This new service allows you to send money around the corner or across the globe to thousands of Agent locations in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
This is how the service works:
- The sender initiates the transaction by completing a "To Send Money" form and paying the Agent cash to cover the transfer amount plus applicable fees. The Agent immediately processes the transaction.
- To pick up the money, the receiver completes a "To Receive Money" form at any Western Union Agent location and provides proper identification. The agent then pays the transfer amount to the receiver.
This service is only available from our head office in Ipswich. The service is available to members of the ISCU or those joining when making their first transfer. ISCU's membership requirements will cover most of the Western Union security requirements.
How much money can I send from the ISCU Office?
You can send as much money as you'd like, although certain security compliance requirements must be met depending on amount sent.
How much does it cost?
There is a percentage charge dependent on a number of factors including destination and speed of transfer.
What is considered valid identification to pick up a money transfer?
Identification requirements are determined by your residency status and the amount of the money transfer.
For UK residents, a passport or driving license with photo is valid. For non-UK residents, a passport, country issued identification or driving license with photos is valid.
£600 to £1999.99: one form of primary identification verifying the full name.
Where no primary ID is presented: one form of primary identification verifying the full name (Birth certificate, etc.) and one form of non-primary identification verifying the current/permanent address (utility bill, a letter from a hostel manager confirming temporary residence, etc.)
For amounts from £2000 and above: one form of identification verifying the full name and one form of identification verifying the current/permanent address. The same document must not be used to verify both name and address.
How are money transfers paid out to individual receivers?
Generally, we pay your money transfer with cash but in some cases, pay out may be made in the form of a money transfer cheque, or a combination of cash and cheque.
